About Wynroy Hot Yoga Academy
More Than a Teacher Training
At Wynroy Hot Yoga Academy, we believe yoga teacher training is about far more than learning how to lead a class.
It's about deepening your understanding of the practice, discovering your own potential, and developing the confidence to share yoga in an authentic and meaningful way.
Whether your goal is to become a yoga teacher, elevate your personal practice, or simply immerse yourself in the philosophy and science of yoga, our 200-Hour Teacher Training has been designed to meet you where you are.
Learn the Wynroy Method
Built on years of teaching experience and thousands of classes delivered, The Wynroy Method combines traditional yoga philosophy with modern anatomy, intelligent movement, and practical teaching skills.
Throughout the course you'll explore:
Yoga philosophy and history
Functional anatomy
Intelligent sequencing
Safe and effective cueing
The art of teaching
Meditation and mindfulness
Ethics and professionalism
Building confidence as a teacher
Rather than simply memorising poses, you'll learn why we move the way we do and how to teach with clarity, purpose and confidence.
Learn Inside a Real Yoga Studio
Unlike many teacher trainings held in retreat centres or temporary venues, you'll complete your training inside a thriving yoga studio.
Throughout the 10-week program you'll participate in real classes, observe experienced teachers, assist members, and progressively develop your own teaching skills within an authentic studio environment.
By graduation, you won't just know yoga—you'll have genuine teaching experience.
Designed for Every Yogi
Many people enrol in teacher training believing they have no intention of teaching.
Interestingly, some of our greatest teachers started exactly that way.
This course is equally suited for those who:
Want to become a certified yoga teacher.
Wish to deepen their own practice.
Love learning about movement and anatomy.
Want greater confidence on and off the mat.
Simply want to immerse themselves in yoga.
There is no expectation that you become a teacher. The greatest investment may simply be in yourself.
A Supportive Community
Learning is best experienced together.
Throughout your journey you'll become part of a supportive group of like-minded individuals who encourage one another, celebrate successes, and grow together.
Our small cohort sizes allow for personalised feedback, meaningful discussions, and individual mentoring throughout the course.
Our Philosophy
At Wynroy Hot Yoga Academy, we believe great teachers are not created by memorising scripts.
They are created through curiosity.
Through practice.
Through experience.
Through understanding.
Our goal is to help you develop your own voice while honouring the traditions of yoga and applying them in a modern world.
Because when you truly understand yoga, teaching becomes a natural extension of your practice.
Join the Next Intake
If you're ready to deepen your understanding of yoga, challenge yourself, and become part of an inspiring community, we'd love to welcome you to Wynroy Hot Yoga Academy.
The journey starts long before you teach your first class. It starts the moment you choose to learn.
Meet Your Lead Teacher
Jay Gardam
Yoga has the power to transform lives—not because it changes who we are, but because it helps us discover who we've always been.
For Jay Gardam, yoga has never been just about flexibility or movement. It has been a lifelong journey of discipline, resilience, self-discovery, and connection.
As the founder of Wynroy Hot Yoga and Wynroy Hot Yoga Academy, Jay has dedicated his career to helping others move with purpose while creating a welcoming community where students of every background can thrive.
A Journey Built on Experience
Jay first stepped onto a yoga mat in 2017 while searching for a practice that complemented his background in strength training and fitness coaching.
What began as a personal challenge quickly became a passion.
After completing his 200-hour Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training through Power Living Australia Yoga, Jay began teaching and has since led thousands of classes, mentoring hundreds of students ranging from complete beginners to experienced practitioners.
His teaching has taken him beyond the studio, including presenting at yoga festivals and leading workshops and retreats, while continuing to build one of Australia's most recognised boutique yoga communities.
Teaching That Makes Sense
Jay is known for making yoga accessible.
Rather than expecting students to simply copy shapes, he believes people learn best when they understand why they are moving.
His teaching blends:
Traditional yoga philosophy
Modern anatomy and biomechanics
Intelligent sequencing
Functional movement
Breath-led practice
Practical teaching skills
His approach removes unnecessary complexity while remaining deeply respectful of yoga's traditions.
Whether you're stepping onto a mat for the first time or preparing to teach your own classes, Jay's goal is simple:
Help you understand the practice—not just prform it.
The Wynroy Method
Over years of teaching, Jay has developed The Wynroy Method—a teaching philosophy that combines evidence-informed movement, thoughtful sequencing, and authentic yoga philosophy.
Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore movement, think critically, and develop their own teaching voice rather than memorising scripts.
The result is teachers who understand how to adapt yoga for real people in real bodies.
Beyond the Studio
Outside the yoga room, Jay has spent years coaching people to improve not only their physical health but also their confidence and mindset.
His background in fitness coaching, combined with his passion for education, allows him to bridge the gap between traditional yoga and contemporary movement science, creating learning experiences that are practical, engaging, and immediately applicable.
Creating the Next Generation of Teachers
Jay founded Wynroy Hot Yoga Academy with one vision:
To develop knowledgeable, confident, compassionate yoga teachers who can inspire others through authenticity rather than perfection.
His teacher training is about far more than becoming an instructor.
It is about learning to communicate clearly, understanding the human body, appreciating the philosophy of yoga, and developing confidence that extends well beyond the mat.
As Jay often says:
"A 60-minute class is just a pin drop in the vast ocean of yoga. Teacher training gives us the opportunity to slow down, ask questions, and truly understand the practice."
Whether your goal is to teach or simply deepen your own practice, Jay is committed to helping you become the best version of yourself—one breath, one movement, and one lesson at a time.
